About the event
Turn waiting time into scanning time—get hands-on with your ultrasound machine and learn to recognise A-lines, B-lines, pleural effusions, and pericardial effusions like a pro.
This is a 2-hour session with 1 hour of theory, detailing how's and what's of an emergency ultrasound scan of the chest and abdomen, followed by an hour-long practical session with portable ultrasound machines on real canine patients! During this session, expert ultra-sonographer and veterinary cardiologist Dr Ian Johnson, will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to triage critical patients, allowing the vet to focus on treating the patient without delay.
Refreshments and a variety of delicious snacks will be provided throughout this seminar (cuddles with the canine volunteers are also provided for free! Cuddles with Ian are not advised - he may bite if not offered a cup of tea first).
